Our client is one of Australasia’s leading corrosion mitigation and protection companies specialising in all aspects of corrosion prevention. Their Total Asset Protection solutions and services include: Corrosion management; Blasting, painting and remediation of concrete and steel structures; Lining and waterproofing; Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Structural Strengthening; Cathodic Protection (CP); and Pipeline Electrical Hazard Assessments. They deliver these services across a diverse range of industry sectors, including naval, defence, marine, transport and infrastructure.


About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a QA/QC Officer to join their team working in maritime defence at Henderson WA. You will be responsible for submitting all completed site records, maintaining NCR register, conducting surveillance on all site construction activities, conducting surveillance on all subcontractor/ supplier materials and activity, conducting site inspections, approving hold points for assigned activities and developing the surveillance schedule for the site. This is a full time permanent position and a great opportunity to join the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring project works are carried out in accordance with this plan, applicable sub-plans, and procedures.
  • Conducting ongoing assessments of the work areas and taking necessary corrective actions to eliminate risks, substandard practices, conditions, or behaviours.
  • Participating in task planning and risk analysis and the preparation of Safety Work Method Statements.
  • Participating in regular audits, assessments, walk-throughs and/ or inspections.
  • Coordinate and develop process improvement and standard work methodology across service activities to drive continuous improvement and process stability.
  • Implement and maintain Project QA / QC requirements to fulfil IMS requirements and ensure that works meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Produce, issue and audit project Quality Plans and documents.
  • Ensure project documents are issued, received, registered, controlled and filed to comply with company procedures (QMS)
  • Ensure nonconformances are followed up and closed out on time. Ensure corrective and preventive actions as recommended, are implemented and reviewed for effectiveness.
  • Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports.

About You

  • Minimum NACE 2 Level 2 Inspection Qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role medium – large organisation
  • Significant experience in a site based quality management role.
  • Working knowledge of the AS/NZS ISO 9001 quality systems and processes
  • Ability to abide by corporate rules, safety, quality, process etc.
  • Experience with paint & blast or coatings
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Detail oriented, well organised and able to adhere to deadlines.
  • OHS Card

Eligibility

This role requires a Defence security clearance so being an Australian citizen is essential for eligibility.
